12:07:00 PM Out grabbing a few caches in Evergreen today. I waited for a break in the rain to do a nice loop hike here. I was going to grab this first thing this morning - but somebody got the FTF last night. The coords were spot on for me. Thanks! GeoDog74

[FTF] 08-05-2020 at 7:19 pm. Today we headed west again for an FTF. It is only 50 miles, right? So we pulled up to the parking lot around 5:00 pm and prepared for the hike. It's short, so we don't have to bring many supplies. This was the first cache on our list. We arrived at the GZ and began our search. The coords are bouncy here. The satellite map shows the coords near the path. But using the coords for guidance repeatedly led us off the trail by about 30'. We circled, chasing the bouncing GZ. We even found a spot that someone has used for a potty break. (Hint for future cachers, the container is not near the potty spot. After searching for bout 30 minutes we decided to continue on to grab other caches along the trail. We continued and grabbed two other caches before turning around to try again.
This time we ignored the hint and searched the north side of the trail. No luck. So we returned to the south side. Now consider this - bouncing coords are simply a part of geocaching in our beautiful mountains. It is hard to determine if my coords are bouncing to wrong spots or the CO's coords were incorrect when captured for placement. My bounce at the GZ led me to sit down next to the trail, on the south side to ponder. This is the area the CO mentioned. It is also within the area where my phone at times said was ground zero. Low and behold, I spotted something. Checked it and bingo! Yatah! Found it!
Thanks for the cache!
