The county road across the dam in the Ryan Gulch area is closed to motorized vehicular traffic. This area is special to us. We accidentally found a cache nearby years ago before we knew the word Geocaching.

The area surrounding this cache is part of Ryan Gulch. Ryan Gulch Reservoir was named for the John J. Ryan family who settled south of Loveland in 1860. The two bodies of water separated by the dam are Ryan Gulch Reservoir on the north and the Bud Mielke Reservoir (aka South Side Reservoir). The dam and Bud Mielke Reservoir were built in 1905.

Use stealth; often many muggles in the area walking, jogging or biking.

We were finding these little guys all over the place today. Seems more than one CO has been busy putting them out for us to find. Had to correct the auto GPS map that still thought you could go north across the dam road.
