This was one of my toughest, scariest, and most frustrating geocaching days so far. I started by spilling my coffee on my work shirt, then driving about 3 miles past the first geocache in the mountains. Wandered around till I found my way back. Then an Audi (I already have a distaste for them) was on my rear bumper when I came around a sharp corner to find a deer in the middle of the 2 lane road. I slammed on my brakes. The Audi barely missed me, swerved into oncoming traffic and nearly hit an oncoming car. He fishtailed and took off. I pulled over at the next pull off to calm down. Then I got in over my head climbing a rock wall (solo, no ropes and I'm not a climber). Finally got down after I was drenched in Adrenalin based sweat. Then a 20 minute search for a different cache without luck. I ended the evening at 9:30 pm with 14 finds.
This is the first cache I went to. It's also the one I drove waaay past. I didn't realize that I missed a turn. Made my way back to the GZ and gathered the necessary info. It is beautiful up here! Answers sent. TFTC!

Our family is in Colorado on vacation. Today we arrived in Boulder and decided to go see the views from Flagstaff mountain. After the winter storm yesterday we expected a lot of beautiful scenery provided the roads were open. We were not disappointed!
After spending an hour walking around the summit and admiring the views, I noticed this VC. Once I checked all coordinates, I knew exactly where to go. The first two stops were quick.
For the third, I walked down from the parking lot and there was another cacher there (4smallfrys) also hunting for the plaque. It was quite a challenge, because the winter storm on the previous day had dumped inches of snow in the area. At the coordinates the snow was almost a foot deep.
I hated to disturb such a beautiful scene, but we needed that answer! We each guessed a location and started to dig through the snow. 4smallfrys came up with the plaque first. Fortunately we didn't have to mess up the scene too much. With the answer, we parted ways and wished each other safe caching adventures.
Many thanks for placing this VC at a great location!

I actually visited this site twice today. This AM, I stopped by and secured all of the answers, but I couldn’t see anything due to the fog. I returned later in the day with my wife and was able to see the views. This place is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for bringing us out here. Fav for sure! Sending my answers now. TFTC!!!

On a Fall trip through Colorado doing some caching and seeing the sites. A beautiful scenic drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. Visiting the downtown areas of Boulder, Denver, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs to name a few. We enjoyed a beautiful hike on the Barr trail at the Summit of Pikes Peak. It was a wonderful trip with quite a bit of caching thrown in along the way. Thanks for another interesting virtual. Answers sent.

Had a great time up here today. Waypoints let me around to places I might not have seen otherwise, which made it even better.
Thanks for the virtual.

A decent hike from the bottom. The road spliced the hike multiple times so it's not that solitary. I reached the summit right as a thunderstorm approached so got to see a nice flash of lightning

My oldest kid will be attending CU in the fall. We came to campus today because he has an orientation program that he had to attend. After I dropped him off I took advantage of the free time and went looking for some caches.
Herndonrd was kind enough to meet up with me and together we decided to check out your two virtuals. This was our second stop and we enjoyed the view here too. Unfortunately the haze from all the fires limited how far we could see. I look forward to coming back again in the future.
After we found the answers to your question we were back in the car and off to look for more caches. Thanks for the fun hide and for keeping it around for the rest of us to enjoy. I will send an email with the requested information on behalf of both of us.
P. S. No animals (human or otherwise) were harmed in the writing of this log.

Out from Atlanta exploring Colorado with FLtravelers for a few days. He was able to finish all his counties, while I made more progress on the state. Lots of fun caches were found along the way, including this one.
Great tour of the summit! Answers have been sent.

Flew out to Denver with zanna to grab a cache in the smattering of counties I had left in Colorado. Along the route we stopped for highly favorited caches, virtuals, earthcaches, webcams, Colorado's oldest, and whatever else that looked interesting. This was certainly one of these. Great spot.
