Trying to clean up some DNF's in the area. Saw that it had been recently repaired I was sure of a find, Hurried over and spent well over half hour on the search and came up empty handed again.

Greetings I'm Heartland Cacher, one of the volunteer reviewers for caches submitted to Geocaching.com.
This cache was brought to my attention by one or more of your fellow cachers that think this cache is missing and/or in need of maintenance. I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner the opportunity to check on the cache, and repair it, if necessary. Cache maintenance includes listing maintenance including updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing needs maintenance attributes and enabling the listing. If the owner feels they will not be able to repair this in a timely manner, let me know, and I'll archive it. This will keep the cache from continually showing up in search lists. It can be enabled once you have made repairs. Please use the “Write Note” feature to leave notes on the cache page. Please do not use the "OWNER MAINTENANCE" log until you do the maintenance and the cache is ready to be found again.
When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to enable your cache, it will be no problem. You can re-enable the cache page http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 by clicking the link under the cache name or by checking the box that says the cache is active. You may also drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. If a "Needs Maintenance" log was posted, you will also need to log an "Owner Maintenance" log to clear the "Needs Maintenance" icon from the geocache page. http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404
I look forward to hearing from you. Do not reply to this email. It is sent by a no-reply mailbot so I won't get it. To respond, please do NOT send me an e-mail or a message center conversation as they lack needed functionality for reviewing. Leave a new "Reviewer Note" log here on your cache page. If you're not familiar with this process, see the instructions https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=97&pgid=74. I have your cache on my watchlist, and I will receive a notification when you write your note.
"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance *it will not be unarchived."*
Additionally, please note that if I've not heard from you in 4 weeks, I may be forced to archive this cache. Don't let your cache get archived for non-communication
Thanks for your understanding,
Heartland Cacher

Ms. Anne kicked me out of the house to get some exercise, so I went for a couple of Sandhillers caches. Also picked up some Beef Short Ribs at Tony's. Same price as King Soopers, and you can pick out the nice big meaty ones..
Anyway, after looking all over for quite a while, I looked down and there it was on the ground again. Log is soaked. I put it back in a likely location and left a message for the CO telling exactly where.
Signed the log KAJW. Took nothing. Left nothing. Thanks for the cache!

No luck again tonight. I searched the first time shortly after it was published.

We were really hopeful today. Saw that BCH had found it so decided to give it another try. Nope - still couldn't find it.

Previously found what turned out to be some random container and not the real hide, so I decided to delete my original log and go find the real thing! Yep, there it was--an even better hide than the first one! Signed log. Thanks for the (real) cache!

So on Sunday when a plethora of your caches published we jumped on the chance to get a FTF. So we grabbed a different one and this one published after we had the other one. Did not think this was going to still be here. Benj59 has got the FTF here... or so we al thought.
Today Benj59 informed us that no one had really found this one! I said WHAT! You have to be kidding me. So I did run by at lunch and looked for about 5 mins. Did find the old container in about 30 seconds. Knew this was not it since did not fit the D/T. So I left with no find and went back to work.
Decided to give it one more go this evening after we dropped off a movie at the red box. Took us about 10 mins and eureka we FOUND IT!! Oh that was good, this hide is very similar to one that we have placed too. So I will favorite point this one.
Some may say we are crazy, but this game/hobby is one of the greatest gifts. Who doesn’t love a great scavenger hunt. Hiking, biking or driving hundreds of miles to sign our name on a piece of paper. This brings us a lifetime of joy.
Thanks for placing this cache and keeping our recreation going. SL/with PoshCacher/MagicCacher.Tftc

Legitimate [FTF] at 4:00.
Well, that was interesting! Personally, I blame it all on my 10-year old daughter.... KIDDING!!
So here's the deal. On Sunday I saw all these new Sandhilers caches publishing. I wasn't in a position to race out to get them but when I saw that the two in this park were still available, my daughter and I headed over to try and get them both. This was definitely the tougher of the two. But after a few minutes, she spotted something on the ground she thought was trash but could be a geocache, and sure enough - it was definitely a container! It was on the ground and had some old (2016) signatures on it so I figured it was just a repurposed log and the container had fallen from it's hiding spot. I chatted with the CO to ask where it was and the information I was given was consistent with where I thought it had been hidden. I replaced it where I thought it belonged based on feedback from the CO. I'd say more but that might spoil the fun for future finders. I followed the cache to see who else was going to find it and saw others DNFing it but then eventually finding it.
Fast forward to today (Wednesday). I was in Stapleton at a career fair for work and I get a text from the Sandhillers saying that they checked on the cache - and NOBODY had signed it!! I couldn't believe it. And then they said they couldn't find the one that I had hidden! This was getting crazy. So, apparently what I found was the previous cache that had apparently gone missing. I definitely remember that hide and had even searched in that spot this time when I was trying for the FTF on Sunday.
So, upon hearing that the cache was technically still unfound, I decided to delete my original log and head back over here after the career fair. Amazingly, my geosenses were in perfect working order as I found it within a few minutes. So, I am the legitimate FTFer after all that drama! And to avoid future craziness and confusion, I did remove the old cache I had found.
For bringing me back to this tree more times than I can count now, and for a very well executed hide and some unintentional swag, this gets a favorite point!
Thanks for the hide Sandhillers. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.

Just learned what I found was the previous container. Deleting FTF log.
