Imagine my surprise when I was walking through a favorite neighborhood in Lakewood and I found a LABYRINTH!  Signal would be so pleased...or would he??

Cottage Park is a fairly new park in Lakewood and home to a picnic shelter, open space for play, a playground with 20 play features, a public art installation and a unique sandstone labyrinth that visitors can walk through.  

Formally home to the Meadowlark Cottages, the .7 acre site was acquired by the city from the Jefferson County School District in 2000. The two buildings on site were built in the 1960s to serve as elementary classrooms. The city utilized the buildings for early childhood programs until 2008, when they were closed due to failing infrastructure. The city completed demolition of the buildings in early October of 2019 and finished construction of the park in July 2021.

8:19:00 AM. This was a tough one. I finally expanded my search, and then saw it quickly. I'm giving the container a favorite point. I found it about 24 feet from my gz. Love the name of this new park. Thanks sjbliv

Out and about grabbing a few of the new caches in my neighborhood. SDC's log had me nervous about the find, but found after a quick search for my first Aug '22 placed find. Cheers!

We headed out on a mid-morning caching adventure to clean-up some of the caches in the area. Searched the area according to the clue and no luck. I don't know if my geo-senses were off due to the high 90's tempertures or it may have come up missing. After spending about 20 minutes searching, decided to call it and move on.

Was on my way to cache at the other nearby park when I passed this one. I thought, “there has to be a cache there” & did a U-ie in the road. Sure enough, cute & new little park had a cute & new little cache! Thanks!!
