Find a lock-n-lock box located at the end of County Road 67, about a half mile from the summit of Mount Baldy.
While searching for the nearby Mt Baldy geocache, I decided to hike to the summit, and placed this cache along the way. The cache is located near the turnaround at the end of Country Road 67, with a phenomenal view of the mountains to the east.
So why is this cache called the Ace of Spades? To tell the truth, I forgot to add a logbook, but I did have a deck of cards with me. Hmm ... let's innovate a bit. Use each of the cards as the logbook, logging yours in descending rank beginning with the Ace of Spades for FTF!
To get there you'll need to take County Road 67 east from the Alpine Plateau road (CR867). This is a rough road, and to progress very far along it you'll need a 4WD with high clearance. I was able to get my Honda Ridgeline to about a half-mile from this cache before I didn't feel comfortable continuing onward. I'll mark that spot as a related waypoint.
Note that at one point I ran across a closed, but not locked, gate. Both my GPS and my DeLorme mapbook indicated that the public road continued onwards, and there were no signs indicating any kind of private property either on the gate or the fenceline as far as I could see either direction, so I drove through closing the gate behind me.

This was as close as I could get in my Honda Ridgeline. A jeep or other trail monster could probably get within a hundred feet of GZ. Anything without 4wd and high clearance will likely have to stop well before this point.
