Picked this one up while in the local area. Had I known this was Kerewin’s favorite kind of hide, I would have declined to go on previous geo-adventures with her. You just can’t trust people who like this kind of stuff, they are off…just like people with two first names; such as Ricky Bobby. My gut told me I was in for “a scrubbing” coming after this one. I had a suspicion what kind of hide this is and for me they are hit or miss. In 2013 it took me SEVEN visits to GC3W4QR Chicago - JazzMan’s Musical Mystery Tour (06.02.2013) to find; and that includes for visit six I had instructions on how to find it and on visit seven the CO and CVA64 had to go out there with me to hold my hand / laugh at me. Geez. I thought this one would go the same way because the initial omens. I tried parking the nearby school, but of course the parking lot was coned off because someone told them I was coming. I was punished for wearing shorts to this one, hearing the “mhua ha ha” from the cache description in my head every time some piece of plant life tried to get fresh with me. Finally working my way to the GZ, all I could say was “geez” once I got there. You can imagine my surprise when 45 seconds later I had container in hand. 45 seconds, are you kidding? The good news for me was it only took 45 seconds. The bad news for the cache was that I found it lying on the ground, exposed.
I’m pretty sure the container is not supposed to be on the ground. Looking it over, I saw the zip tie was broken. I’ve never seen that before. Fortunately, I was able to remove the broken pieces, rethread the tie, and replace the hide as I assume it was supposed to be hidden. Surprisingly, the log was bone dry…no issues there. I’ll notify the CO and bring that to her attention. Thanks to the CO for keeping this nice cache going for everyone to find, TFTC.

Well, I won't say that was a quick find, lol. These are my nemesis, too! TFTC

Trappistbrew and I happened to be at the park walking around and chatting about geocaching. We noticed on nearby that neither of us had found before so, off we went to find this one. As we reached the bottom of the hill about to cross the street, who should come along but the CO Herself! She came along as we looked for this one. After a while Trappistbrew made the find. It was a great time, stories traded and then it was time to run for all of us. Thanks for the super fun hide! Don't forget to get pics of Puppies doing CPR in their medical class! :)

Out with Qaz tonight caching and ran into the CO. Great to meet you!! Found the cache after several minutes. Nice hide! I used to have a hundred of these eggs when I lived in Germany. Good to see them reutilized. Thanks for a fun cache.

There have been a number of caches in this large area over the years and all have been archived for one reason or another. We think this one will last. Not sure why there is a geotrail here already, but it helped with the bare legs and toes! Signed log. Thanks!

I saw this one pop up the other day but was headed out of town. So today I needed one and gave this a go. Took a few minutes but within a short amount of time the log was in my hand and my name on the log sheet. Cache is in great shape. TFTC SL

Just when I thought the CO had phased these out, here comes another *$#@ing kinder egg. From someone who can make such brilliant field puzzles, I've never understood why he has felt the need to place so many of these stinkers. First of all, they blend in so well that I end up poking at least one eye each time I search for one. Secondly, when I do find it, I somehow forget how to open them and come close to tearing them from the ziptie or otherwise breaking the @!*#ing thing. So...as readers will quickly gather (if you haven't heard me say it in person a time or ten)…I HATE THESE #%*@ING KINDER EGGS!
On principle, I almost didn't even want to go find this one...but it does help me with 2 challenges that I've been quietly working toward and hadn't told anyone about until a couple days ago. Apparently this cache has been in place longer than that, so it definitely wasn't placed to help me...just to antagonize me...
To make matters worse, I needed to fill today in on my "found date" calendar, so I had gotten a cache at lunch. I've been saving the remaining nearby caches to help fill in these dates, as I have a lot of open spots to fill in the upcoming months. So this afternoon, this cache publishes. I can't ignore it because my name is in it and because of the aforementioned 2 challenges...but you're going to tell me that I've now wasted one of the precious nearby caches? All for a #@!^ing kinder egg?!
So...I leave work and go to find it, only to learn that my two normal FTF partners have been discouraged by hartsdale's quick action a couple hours ago, leaving me to look for this @#*$ing thing by myself. Um...these are usually in pine trees. There are no pine trees here. Even worse...tons of scrub oak! A glance at the attributes gives me an idea of how to search, which leads me all the wrong places before I find it in a much more straightforward location, although it is very well camouflaged. Victory is mine at last! Or so I think. True to form, I can't get the thing open until I nearly break it. Ach! Finally, I signed the log and replaced everything (unbroken) as found. Considered "accidentally" ruining it and "kindly" replacing it with a better container so no one else would be subject to these awful @#$!ing things, but left it...for now.
Of course, I still had an errand to run before my search and rescue meeting tonight, and this #$!*ing egg had significantly cut into my errand-running time. So off I went, quickly forgetting about this awful thing's existence. Until now, when I got home and remembered that I had to log about it...thanks.
Thanks for the cache...I guess. Now...please let these @#$*ers go! We all like your field puzzles better. :-P

FTF!
I was in the South Platte River area below Deckers fishing most of the day and of course grabbing a couple of FTFs along the way.
This published as I was heading home just before I got through Woodland Park, being aways away I figured it would have been found before I could get there.
It took a while to get down the pass because part of the road is down to one lane each way, like the old days and backed up moving slow.
It was also starting to rain and now it could close at anytime.
Got to town and it was a down pour across the north end and moving fast to the east.
The freeway was stop and go, so I took the cut through the neighborhood route to get to a close parking spot.
Just as I parked the rain and lightning quit and moved out east.
Walked over to GZ and got lucky and spotted it quickly, signed the top spot three minutes shy of a hour after publishing and headed for home.
Thanks for another fun cache to find!
