Activities

Want to know how to join in on the fun? Check out the following details regarding camping and participation. The Group Campsite is limited to 120 people. That doesn't mean we can't have more folks visiting or for activities, that's just the limit of folks who can stay at the site overnight.

Lots of people!

For those who wish to stay and camp with us for the weekend, we will be collecting:
$25 for 1 person/campsite - $10 for each additional person
$55 for family/groups of 4 or more
$50 for RV site

Registration & payment process can be found on the Campout.Rocks Webpage. Act Quickly - The campsites have sold out months before the event the past four years!

Why the charges? We have pre-paid for the campground. The charge will cover this cost of camping and will help defray the costs of camper-only activities.
There is no charge for those who wish to stop by. We may have a small charge for non-campers to take part in some of the special activities (such as Provided Meals and Registration Packets).

There are five spots for RVs, with no services. Please be sure to let us know if you will be in an RV or Camper/Trailer when you register.

Fishing

Warning: local wildlife may make appearances, including bears.
Fishing is available - you are responsible for the fishing license, state laws apply.

There will be several activities in the area this weekend as well. You are NOT required to attend the campout to attend the events, nor are you required to attend the events if you are camping! There will be plenty of things to do if you choose to participate!

CUTTHROAT BAY GROUP, CO is part of Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests Pawnee NG, US Forest Service ***PLEASE NOTE: An additional fee will be charged for admission to the Arapaho National Recreation Area; fees are PER VEHICLE - $5 for one day, $10 for three days*** If you are parking at the campground, this fee is charged by the US Forest service and must be paid at the machine located at the entrance to the campground (see additional waypoint on this cache page). This fee is PER VEHICLE, not per person. If you have a national park pass, this fee does not apply.

Announcement 03/20/2020 By Geocaching HQ Admin
Geocaching HQ is posting this updated Announcement on all future Events and CITOs.

As the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) situation is evolving rapidly around the world, Geocaching HQ urges all Event hosts and attendees to prioritize the safety of themselves and their attendees.

At this time, we advise Event hosts to consult their regional health authorities to understand the guidance regarding gatherings of people. Generally, Geocaching HQ leaves the decision to Event hosts on whether to continue hosting the Event and to attendees on whether they will participate. In some regions, community volunteer reviewers may suspend publishing new geocaches, including Events and/or may disable, retract, or archive already published Events, in accordance with guidance from health authorities.

For hosts who wish to cancel their Events, we suggest that they:
1. Create an Announcement log to notify users that the Event is cancelled.
2. Archive the listing.
3. If hosts wish to reschedule the Event, submit a new listing.

We understand it can be very disappointing to miss the connections that are made at Events. But please remember that geocaching is a location-based game, and locationless Events or virtual logging of Events are not permitted by the Geocaching guidelines. HQ appreciates that the community is so strong that players want to keep in touch virtually and we encourage doing so using other online platforms. Read the Geocaching Blog for tips about how to stay active with geocaching during these challenging times. Thank you for your understanding.
