Found this one while riding the Alpine Tunnel Loop on Mtn Bikes. We had some light snow flurries while at the cache site.

Thanks for the cache!

While the 4x4 group was making the trek over Hancock & Tomichi passes I went for a hike out to the tunnel entrance. I have been here before on my horse but maybe it was after this cache was placed or possibly I just didn't know there was a cache here.

Just as we got to this location after hiking 3 miles from the east, the hail started. The dark clouds had been brewing for a while and I kind of figured we'd have to deal with some type of precipitation on the way back. I quickly found the cache and signed the log, then we started a quick walk back to the car, getting hailed and rained on the whole way. I can look back and say it was fun, but we got pretty cold and wet. The heater was on full-blast in the car on the way home. I had planned on hiking up to the top of the pass, but not this day. Thanks for the cache.

Up high today to do cache maint on our "Alpine Tunnel Lake" cache.
This one about killed us! Hiked up from the West portal, check our hide and then down the east side for this one. Hiking at 12,000' for two seniors from Indiana was a real chore, but we made it.
A great hide and a wonderful location.
Thanks for showing us the "other side" of the tunnel.
A favorite for sure.
