!! Exciting New Cache Series!!

“COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST”

The Colorado Spirit Quest is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural and mountain communities across Colorado.  This series will introduce you to many of them.

The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries and tombstones.

COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST is not affiliated with any other ‘Spirit Quest’ group.  Special thanks and credit are given to SixDogTeam who started the Indiana Spirit Quest in 2004. The idea has rapidly spread into many states.

The CSQ endeavor is an enormous and relentless task.  It cannot be accomplished by just one or two people.  This project will only flourish if there is a multitude of volunteer cachers  willing to place these caches.

After locating the cache container, take some time to reflect back on the lives of those pioneers and the effort it took to make Colorado such a great state.

If you are interested in joining the “Walking Through History Clan” contact may be made by sending an e-mail to the owner of “Colorado Spirit Quest #1 – Mo untain Passage”.  Use the ‘Send Message” link at the center of the page of their profile.

Each person that places a CSQ cache is responsible for its maintenance.

REMEMBER:

If you are APPREHENSIVE about cemeteries – AVOID this series.

The cache container is a camoed 35mm film canister.  You will not need to enter the cemetery to find the cache.

There are about 6 identifyable graves in this cemetery.  Care is minimal but the weeds appear to be mowed occasionally.   We were there at about sunset and, as you can see from the photos, the sunset was excellent.

I love the fields and walking through the tall grass. This needs new container but we didn’t have one. Thanks for the quick find.

The gateway that speaks to you. Very cool. Wind was making a flute sound at the sign.

Performed some maintenance here. Day 4 of caching road trip to Colorado with KCCG and M4ISU. Parted ways and KCCG and I are grabbing counties on the way home. Today is day 2634 of my daily streak. Thank you for placing this cache.

Being the courteous and generous cachers that we are, we left a new log and baggie.

Kicking off the summer with a great American road trip to celebrate M4ISU’s belated birthday!  After months of planning, I am finally on the road with Stephenjha as my copilot.  I am logging as we go which makes it easier to keep track of the HUGE playlist we are hoping to accomplish.  If all goes well, I’ll drive 2500+ miles, add 50+ new counties, see 5 different states, find some cool cemeteries, increase my Fizzy and Jasmer progress, find 20+ virtuals, a handful of Earthcaches, a Wherigo, and maybe a webcam or 2!  It’s going to be a crazy weekend!

TFTC. SL. Thanks for placing this hide for my enjoyment, I really appreciate your effort! CACHE ON!!!

It's A Small World recently got her driver's permit, so we spent the day driving out here in the plains so she could practice pulling off the shoulder periodically. Coincidentally there happened to be a cache every time she pulled over. Strange how that happens.

Thanks for the fun hide and for your contribution to a memorable driver's training course.

I needed this county so I drove all the way back here to make sure that I got it. It's sad to see it all overgrown.
