Meeko is the raccoon friend of Pocahontas in Disney's adaptation of her story. This cache is located where many raccoons like to cross through at night, and you may even see their prints if you look by the creek.

Luckily, your prints don't need to go as far off the trail. Be sure to bring small bugs! Meeko loves them!

This is meant to be a fun and easy family-friendly cache along with our other Disney themed caches. You will not have to go far off the paved trail path, but there is a little slope of dirt and gravel so please watch your little ones! We chose an area not as steep as other areas here for the cache. Bring your own writing utensil.

Congratulations to Hartsdale for a fast FTF! He even beat us COs out and we wanted to spy on whoever was getting there first! :)

HOW do you get to the cache?

You cannot approach this cache from the east, as it is fenced off and private property in that direction. However, the paved path is to the East of the creek and west of the private area and for public use. This trail is the best way and we put on a suggested parking to get to the trail! There are other ways such as (if you are feeling adventurous) you can cross the creek at any point. This is NOT suggested after our recent storms, just take a look and you should know it isn't safe to cross. When we placed this we were able to cross the creek (it was but a dribble then) but the sand is NOT as solid as it looks. Use your best judgement and cross at your own risk!

 Hints

I wouldn't place a cache for Meeko in a place a raccoon couldn't get to.

Fantastic cache! Definitely getting a favorite point from me. This was my first find in Colorado! Also dropped off a trackable that hitched a ride from Texas!

Thanks!

Found with dispatch on my trip to the Rocky Mountain State.

I parked at a local purveyor of firearms and hike in after work.

I am so high in the windy sun,
On the rock-boned back of the highest thing,
That the mountains under me, every one,
Are but wrinkled gestures . . . westering.
Green-robed those little mountains pass,
Like rabbits under piles of grass.

The undelivered sky, vein-ripped in pain
Of crackled lightning, underneath the skin,
Still holds her throbbing thunder-burden in,
Too drugged to hate or fear or love the rain.

Over the moth-white vapor of hail, clinging the world where the storm had run,
I saw a thousand mountains rise,
Where the sun had let me see but one.

Indigo-slippered, acre-wide,
curving the mountain meadowside,
Walking the silver hill with me ...
I saw you step in the aspen tree.

Thanks for bringing me here.
