Tftc. Out with snipermedic from Colorado and Wyoming. Quick trip to visit the oldest one working on the wind turbines in Kansas thank you for the history trip. It was nice that we were able to drive through and read all the information throughout the site.

Headed back to Fort Collins from our mini spur of the moment geo trip to see my brother. Decided we would try and chip away some of the Santa Fe Trail and it lead us through this lovely town. Thank you so much for the history lesson, we did the little walk around. This should never be forgotten, for if we forget history we are sure to repeat it. Out with Dragonlover13, Lil’ Dinoman and Lil’ Chubchub. Tftc sl

I ended up with a bonus day to go caching at the end of our vacation, so I stopped for a find on my way through Granada. This was a nice educational virtual cache here and helped me learn some things I never knew from school. I already sent the required answer. Thanks for creating this cool and educational virtual to find on my round about way toward home.
So, I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of increasing my word count average. It seems that there are caching statistical challenges that look at the word count averages in our “Found It” logs.
And now for today's trivia ...
NATIONAL SMILE POWER DAY
June 15th is the day we observe National Smile Power Day. This is a day for everyone to share the power of the smile.
From the good morning greeting and the first “How may I help you?” present yourself with a smile. No matter where you are employed, job seeking, retired or looking for new horizons starting the day with a smile is certainly more empowering than a pout or grump. Starting with a smile first is easier than trying to get there later in the day.
When you smile at someone, you are telling them that they are valued and worth the smile that you just gave them. Smiles are moral boosters and confidence builders.
Research has proven that smiling really does increase attractiveness and likability between humans. Smiling creates a greater trust and increased interpersonal cooperation. Smiling at someone can help them to relax and relieve their stress while at the same time, it will make you feel right. Smiling (even if you do not feel like it) will lift your mood and can make you a happier person.
HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL SMILE POWER DAY
Challenge yourself to smile more often today. Use a smile to disarm a tense situation, or simply smile during your daily tasks.

Drove around this area, reading the posted signs. Policemen paid $16 a month; times have changed. I would never have visited this area if not for geocaching. I also visited the nearby cemetery where the prisoners who died in the camp were buried. This place was a bit off the beaten path but there is so much history here that it is worth the time. Thanks so very much for this sobering EC.

Motorcycle trip with the DutchessOfStuff, headed west this year. MN to Vegas and then a nice leisurely trip back east through National Parks, Monuments and amazing roads. This was one of our stops, thanks for the fun and TFTC!!!!!!! Humm, stopped near a place like this in California several years ago. Manzanar, another interesting place and some history I hope we never forget.

Email has been sent. This is a sobering place. I walked around for quite some time to try and understand. Without geocaching I likely never would have come here. Thanks for broadening my world.

Fourth full day of my "EPIC Adventure 2018" trip with Brewce. Today our plans consisted of hitting the 2 oldest caches in Kansas for Brewce (I already had), and then whatever else made its way in our path. Hm, who would have thought that we'd have another incredible day with not much planned?! Besides the two oldest geocaches in Kansas, impromptu caching yielded some cool and interesting virtuals, we were able to climb the high point of Kansas
, got to see the world's biggest ball of twine, the Geodetic center (or as close as you can get), and teh center of the United States of America...again -- all unplanned!! WOW, another amazing day!
Thank you so much for this virtual! The camp had a somber feeling, overwhelming sadness in my heart was felt. We looked around and then drove to the cemetery, looking at the camp and all that is no longer there and imagining what it was like -- horrible as it may have been. This brings history books to reality in a sense, hopefully history that won't be repeated.
We headed out from Milwaukee to the great West, on the agenda were: 8 - Y2K caches, completing my 3x Jasmer and setting me up nicely for 4x Jasmer, virtual geocaches, webcams, challenge caches, caches helping complete already signed challenges, high favorite pointed caches, and, most importantly, fun and laughter along with anything else we wanted to stop and do! We achieved all those things and more, so much more.
We saw things we never knew about or never thought we would see - amazing! Our timing for the entire trip could not have been planned any better. Driving by car is the best way to see America, it allows for impromptu stops and deviations, which we did...many times....and on this trip we drove a total of 4,500 miles and all I can keep saying is "wow, just wow!!" of all we saw. One of my best adventures ever thanks to geocaching, thanks for being part of it!
