This a somewhat difficult walk due to the altitude.
This is at one of the most scenic passes in Colorado. It is closed in the winter and would not be accessible during the months from late fall through spring.

The cache is in a clear plastic container filled with goodies. Good Luck!!

Today, it's my 13th day of my trip.

My travel today will be Grand Junction - Aspen - Maroon Bells - Independence Pass - Buffalo Bill's Grave - Denver.

I wake up early this morning, I wanna started by the Maroon Bells. So I need to drive a little time before arriving here. I took my ticket and take the bus until this area.

Unfortunately, when we arrive at the Maroon Lake. The weather was bad. It was raining and there is some fog. So I just do the small loop around the lake, the scenic loop.

I saw sometime a little bit the maroon bells but it was difficult with the clouds and the fog.
Unfortunately, it was just here because when we come back to Aspen there was a clear sky.

Even like it's a beautiful place, I enjoy the little even with the rain. I took the info for the cache and send the answer to the owner.

After visiting the Maroon Bells, I drive until the Independence Pass. Now, I have some sun and less cloud and no fog. I can appreciate all the wonderful views along my way.

I'm hiking here until the cache. What a breathtaking view from here.
The cache was quickly found.

Thanks for discovering this place and for the cache.
Greetings from Belgium !

If you'd asked me yesterday I would have said that I'd probably end up skipping this one, but after 24 hours above 8K I was feeling pretty good up here so I decided to go for it. Glad I did, it provided me some nice sweeping views of the area and ended up being the trip highpoint for me. TFTC!

Our 3rd cache of the day. We are spending the Labor Day weekend in the Leadville area. This morning, we began by driving to Independence Pass. Arrived early before the crowds. After visiting the observation platform, we then began hiking up to the summit of the nearby 13,500' unnamed peak. Found this cache along our route. We had the entire trail to ourselves. Warm when we started hiking, but on the descent, the winds returned and temperatures began to drop as the rains moved in. Many thanks.

After cheering on my friend as she finished the Leadville 100 this morning, I headed towards Independence Pass to get the other caches I had targeted for the weekend. Thanks for placing this cache! All is in great shape here!
