Returned today and searched. Luckily, Lord Mike put things together and found it. I didn't trade anything but I signed the log.

With Lord Mike and we were able to find the first stage. We walked the trail in both directions and didn't find anything that made sense. I texted the owner for a nudge and we decided to move on before hearing back for them. Thank you for the help from the cache owner by the way. We will return and try again. I hope the final is not on private property.
