Enjoy this easy hike along Carhart Trail, with beautiful views. From the parking lot, start by walking the road through the gate. Once you are at the top of the road take a right and follow the trail through the old rodeo stomping grounds. After awhile, you will come across another junction. Stay right. Find The Gnome Home while walking through Fairy Village. With it's pine needle thatching, river rock surface and moss coverings this is a home built just for a gnome. Forest, the forest gnome, is protector of the forest and has left heart rocks all over Carhart Trail to remind us humans to take care of our forests for one day, we may not have them anymore. It's best to leave an offering at the stump upon entering Fairy Village, so that you don't become prey to their mischievous games and may lead you to finding The Gnome Home. Not far from the path and hidden among fallen friends you may only see the thatching. Another perspective may be needed. Happy findings!
