On 10/1/2013 the cache was replaced with a clear, hard plastic otter box style container. It is 4 x 4 x 6 inches and will hold coins and small TBs. The cache has been moved a little further from the summit to prevent confusion with the summit log. The cache is about 40 feet ENE of the highest rocks(not the summit shelter). Look a few feet north of the ridge as the trail approaches the summit.

From the town of Alma take Buckskin St(County Road 8) to Kite Lake. Depending on the road conditions you may not want to take your vehicle all the way to the lake. It is rough but normally doable for most 2WD cars when it is dry. My Subaru Outback handled it just fine. There is a $3 fee to park close to the trailhead. The hike is about 4 miles round trip and 2150' in elevation gain.

The summit log in the metal pipe is NOT the cache. You must sign the cache log to claim a find on this cache.

#1092 - wow what a climb! We’re visiting from Texas and have trained for months to be in shape to summit. Unfortunately the rains rolled in and we were Mt Cameron/Lincoln. Cache is in great shape TFTC

#1 of my clock-wise hike of the DeCaLiBron combo (omitting Mt.Bross). Found the cache in good shape after a quick search. When I reached the car park at Kite Lake at 7:30 it was already pretty full (on a Monday!). Great hike in good weather (just a very strong, very cold wind) up to Democrat summit. There was only one short, unproblematic snow field near the summit. No crampons or similar required anymore for the season.
