From the time when kids had to walk uphill both way to school. There was dozens of country schools across the county ensuring that no kid had to walk more than 3 miles
The Yuma County School project set out to locate and mark as many of these schools as possible Anyone wanting more information can stop into the Wray Museum

District 33 was formed in 1899. It was formed by the division of Sunnyside District 13 which had a school 4 miles to the South. The Sunnyside district was one of the first distrits in the area. Formed in 1887 when the area was still Washington County. The first terms were for a period of 3 months and the teachers earned $33.30 per month
