I came across a picture from 100 years ago of this very location.  In contrast, the formations haven't changed much, but the surroundings sure have!

This picture was taken the day the cache was placed...

 

 

It took me a little bit to determine where the original photo was taken and I was pleased to find it in a nice area void of caches!  Now I could have made you do some work to find this spot, but I figured bringing you here is enough reward.  The cache is a micro at the base of the rock pictured.  It is covered by another rock and is nested in some vegitation.  As this is obviously visited by a lot of kids, please take care to be stealthy and to hide carefully back.  Once found go play around on the rocks!  I sure did!  It's a neat spot that seems out of place in it's surroundings.

Cool hidden gem right off the pavement. Explored around the rock formations for a while after SL....all is good and dry. TFTC!!

Didn't see anything resembling the hint but did find the painted rock mentioned in a previous post.
