DAVID SPIELMAN WAS SHERIFF OF EL PASO COUNTY FROM 1865-1870.
IT IS SAID THAT AFTER A JEWLERY ROBBERY IN EL PASO COUNTY HE AND HIS POSSE CAPTURED THE ROBBERS AND BROUGHT JUSTICE AT THIS LOCATION.
IN THE VALLEY BELOW THE CACHE YOU CAN SEE THE REMAINS OF AN OLD CABIN. PERCH YOURSELF ON ONE OF THE WONDERFFUL ROCKS AROUND YOU AND LET YOUR MINDS EYE SHOW YOU WHERE THE ROBBERS DID ROOST AND THEIR FATE AND JEWLERY FELL INTO THE HANDS OF THE LAW.
BECAUSE OF THE HISTORY IN THIS CACHE WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUN TO TRADE ONLY JEWLERY RELATED ITEMS.
PLEASE RESPECT THE CACHE CONTAINER AS YOU WILL REALIZE WHEN YOU SEE IT THAT IT IS SOMETHING UNIQUE AND YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN SHERIFF DAVE MAY HAVE YOU IN HIS SITES.
THIS WAS AN INTERESTING STORY TO ME AS SHERIFF DAVID WAS SHIRT-TAIL RELATION,IT WAS A LONG SHIRT THOUGH.

After we hiked a few miles at Indian Creek, we decided to take a drive and ended up at the end of 9J Road. This is the last of the geocaches we picked up on our way back toward home. It was starting to sprinkle when we got to the cache so we got a little damp, but the weather was warm and it was just a short walk back to the truck. There is lots of nice swag in this cache, but I unfortunately left my swag bag in the truck. Took the geocoin to move it along, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for placing this cache so that we can play!

Looks like there used to be a road/trail going close to this cache at one time. It is pretty much grown over now but the terrain is nice enough for a pleasant walk. Thanks for the cache, left a TB
