Located along the South side of the river, just East of the Debeque Wildlife area. This is a great little area to visit, many different seasonal birds visit here including a nesting pair of Bald Eagles that have returned for at least the last 5 years. We come here each spring to observe their fishing techniques.

The road in is usually in good shape and a 2WD should be OK.

The hike to the cache site is easy when dry, not much elevation change.

The container is camoed and contains a log only.

Congratulations to gooftroop4 on yet another FTF!

Looked all around but no luck in locating the cache. Bummer! Nice area that we didn't know about before.

Good thing I didn't have a dinner engagement tonight. Spent an hour and a half looking but the tenacity finally paid off. I didn't drive 30 miles out here for a DNF. Pleasant evening. River running high. TFTC

Well, it seemed like a good idea. Hmmm.....I know it's a micro, so I looked for something real small, not forgetting the fact that some of your micros are small inside and not so small outside. However, high or low, it was not to be for me today. I thought I might fall off the cliff if I looked in the last possible place (from my perspective) and I opted not as I have to be at work this afternoon. I can fall off the cliff some other time, when I have more time.
I got lucky in other ways though. I saw a herd of elk running through the raptor homes on the other side of the river. A red-tailed hawk flew almost right over the hood of my little truck as I drove in and on the way out I believe I saw a Kestrel also flying very low across the road on it's way to the river. I have to now check my bird guide to see if maybe it was a peregrine falcon. It was still a great driving diversion. I'll be back.

I am still surprised I found this one on the first attempt. Approached it from completely the wrong route. Once I got to the proper area though I got real lucky and noticed it right away. Very nice area. Thanks for the cache.
