Located in Deer Creek Canyon Park. Cache is slightly off trail in a camo'ed container. Suggest bringing water on hot days. The container can hold GeoCoins as well as some TBs.

This cache was placed in memory of Dave Meleney, our late friend. Dave was a true gentleman with a kind heart. To know Dave was to know his passions. Whether it be the literature he read, the adventures he told stories of, the politics he believed in, the good in the human race he never lost faith in, or even the bonsai tree art he created, the fervor and zeal for life that constituted Dave Meleney will never subside. Dave passed on July 12, 2007. His memorial was at this Deer Creek Canyon Park on July 18, 2007. A year later we have placed this cache at this site in his honor.

We celebrate his life! The impact he had on our lives was so positive that sadness is no concern. Enjoy the scenery of this cache and enjoy that which makes you happy! Celebrate your passions just as Dave did!

It was terrific to be caching here today; visiting from Utah; 2nd cache of five today. This cache was in bad shape. Swag was strewn on the ground and the container lid was difficult to find. The container could definitely use some camo treatment, especially the lid. The log was wet and disheveled so I replaced the log and reassembled the container. Found some rocks to give this cache better cover and camouflage. Otherwise, it is a great place for a cache and a great tribute to Mr. Meleney. TFTC
