I really enjoy night caches and this was no exception. I convinced my muggle husband to accompany me and I think he had fun too, even though he’d never admit it. It’s always nice to see a new cache in the parks of Black Forest. Thanks for placing this cache for me to find. TFTC.

As soon as I saw this night cache publish I was waiting with baited breath to look for it. I waited a while until the entire crew (the Mrs, our niece, and an eager 2 year old) was ready and we headed south from Aurora. We arrived around half an hour after Ktrackers made the FTF. With flashlights in hand we followed the clues to the final and discovered an amazing container. Well done and well placed.
On the way back we found a friend similar to Ktrackers. I haven't seen these in Colorado. Impressively large beetle.
Today I headed north again to grab geocaches around Frederick and then heading south back to Aurora. Decent weather and clear skies until the end of the afternoon when high winds and a little rain came my way. Later I gathered the troops and we headed south to Black Forest for a few more caches.
Thanks for the cache!

FTF, approximately 2031.
I decided to come after this one tonight because I assumed there would be a decent crowd of FTF cachers to pal around with. The planning for this cache (or coincidence?) seemed to setup up an optimum FTF party…the cache was published early this morning to give everyone time to prepare and the moon was in Waning Crescent; only 7% illumination. I arrived at nearby parking and there were a few dog walkers heading home, but no cachers. I assumed I didn’t see anyone because I was a bit early; my plan was to wait until it got dark at the posted coordinated. At the posted coordinates I waited awhile, but still no other cachers. At least I did find a little friend and he helped me pass the time. Even when I arrived back at the parking lot after making the find…still no cachers. Where the heck is everyone?!?!?
As soon as the light faded enough, I started my visual sweep and found the first marker. I actually missed the start point markers because I was too close to them to get a good reflection. I was able to spot them on the way out, however. I had a 1300 lumen light source and had no problem following the trail. Based upon firetack placement, twice I thought “3 grouped together” might mean three firetacks close together that triangulated the container location, but this turned out not to be the case. Eventually I found the real “3 grouped together” and made the find.
Thanks to the CO for the nice placement, a nice night cache like this is just what I needed. Too bad I wound up doing it alone. Sniffle. TFTC.
