This 6 stage cache should be fun for those familiar with my style. There is altitude gain but it is shaded for most of the route. A new trail makes access much easier.
Snow may cover important clue sites and cache so consider weather conditions. The first stage is at the Initial Coordinates. Locate the two sets of 3 digit numbers in the lower right. One of these sets plus 577 should be added to one of the coordinates and the other set plus 131 should be added to the other coordinate. If you are correct, the bearing from stage two to your location is 169°.
Stage 2 should place you in position to view a large trail sign on the right of the river as you face up stream. Go there for Stage 3.
Stage 3 is at the beginning of a lightly used trailhead. Follow the trail along the southern edge of a ravine to point ending in N.067 and W.329. At this point, Stage 4, when properly aligned, you will be standing on a large rock (about 5ft. x 4ft.) with a large 18” diameter tan barked pine tree behind you, a similarly sized pine tree in the view directly ahead of you with burned dead fall in the distance. Find the sedimentary rock clue with the next stage clue. Subtract 744 from the 3 digit N number and subtract the result from your N coordinate, then subtract 527 from the 3 digit W number and subtract the result from your W coordinate, to find the next stage.
This stage #5 is identified as an area with a large rock about forty feet behind and uphill where you must find a penny sized magnet attached to a small piece of coniferous detritus at the base of a rock. The magnetic clue provides two 3 digit numbers, N & W. (A duplicate clue may be found about 4ft. from the base behind a flaking piece of bark.) Subtract 262 from the N number and subtract the result from the last 3 digits of the minutes of this stage's N location. Subtract 368 from the W number and add the result to this stage's W location. to determine the final coordinates of the cache.
GREAT VIEWS
ENJOY THIS AREA.
Convenient parking will cost you $6 from March to November. Free street parking is available but there are several caches in the area and lots of picnic opportunities to justify the expense.
In addition to the Log Book and camera, the original cache contents included: CITO containers (x2), Kahneeta Resort Frig Magnet, GPS wrist strap, Twisty Things (x2), Betty Spaghetti (McD in bag), wristwatch, Hawaiian key chains (x2), Xmas top spinner, Bobby’s World Puzzle, Triangle Puzzle, Mini Slinky, Spy Eyepiece, Coin Purse, Wrist Coin Purse, Bison Capsule (for your own DIY micro cache), Brain Quest-Geography flip cards, HideAKey magnetic box (for your own DIY micro cache), Kids walky-talky set, mini-biners (x2), toy scooter, compass, keychain flashlight, pencil pad.
03/28/2017 By Alpine Reviewer I noticed your cache has been under the weather for a while now. Caches that need repair or maintenance should normally be taken care of within a few weeks. Please check on this cache and either repair/replace it and post a log to indicate you have done so, or archive it and pick up any remaining cache contents as soon as possible. Please contact me if you have any questions. If there is no evidence that the cache has gotten attention (e.g. cache enabled or note posted to cache page) or I have not heard from you about this cache in a few weeks it may need to be archived.

10/23/2015 By icezebra11 This cache has been lonely for over 3 1/2 years so since I had some time this afternoon I decided to give it a go. Drove to the posted coordinates and found the object. As has been noted by others, one full three digit number and 1 1/2 of the other 3 digits are missing, victims to a decaying decal. So I used a different method to figure where to go next. From that location I could see the sign on the right side of the river and I knew I was on the right track. Headed up the trail and found Stage 4 but while looking for it, I stepped on it and it broke. I pieced it back together as best as I could, recorded the numbers, and did the math. Stage 5 gave me lots of trouble but I eventually made it to the final location and discovered the lonely ammo can in its nice hiding spot. I happily signed the log and felt quite satisfied with finding this tricky cache. Because of Stage 1 and Stage 5, it's definitely harder than 2.5D in my opinion. Thanks GeoFred for this nicely done multi!!!

TEA HAWK
05/26/2015 By CoBiker One set of numbers has been weathered away. We couldn't get past stage one.
05/26/2015 By ecanderson We read the most recent log which states "Revised description to enable cachers to locate stage 2. Weathering had eliminated key clues. New description is permanent." However, the long description still expects us to "Locate two sets of 3 digit numbers in the lower right". We were able to find only one, with the remainder appearing to have been weathered away.
