100 miles is how far you should be willing to drive for this event!  I'm sure we all have said some unkind words while trying to solve a puzzle (hence the event name) and wondered "how did they come up with that?".  This installment of my "100 mile" series will be different; instead of focusing on a specific cacher's puzzles, this one will focus on the "Art" of puzzlemaking- how to make them and how to solve them.  Some of the masters of puzzles in Colorado (Jim Reeb, Sleuthers, Animjason, working on others) will be on hand to talk about how they do it and answer your questions.

We will be using Event Halls A&B at the Douglas County Library in Parker on 7/13 from 1500-1700.  Bring your friends and come with your questions!

As an added attraction, we will be holding a puzzle contest in conjunction with the event.  You don't have to attend the event to participate in the puzzle contest.  Cachers are encouraged to submit 1 (or more) puzzles that you've created for other event participants to solve.  Puzzles may be simple or complex; attach them to your "will attend" or "write note" (or provide a link if they must be hosted somewhere else) and email the solution to me at Herndonrd@msn.com.  Puzzles must be posted NLT 1 week before the event.

There will be prizes for the top three puzzle solvers as well as the favorite puzzle (of those submitted for this event).  Please email me your list of solutions and vote for favorite puzzle at Herndonrd@msn.com NLT 1800 MDT on Friday 7/12 so that I can compile the winners.  Puzzle authors have the option to quickly go over how to solve their puzzle at the event, or they can keep it secret and use it in a future mystery cache.

We have four puzzlemasters confirmed for the event so I hope everyone will try to make it.

If you can't come you are still welcome to participate in the puzzle contest. Just send me your solutions by the deadline.

Se you all on the 13th!
