The Mrs made the find here while I was looking in all the wrong places.

What do I do after a long work day in Denver's 102 degree temperatures? I think its a good idea to head to the hills and take advantage of the temperature drop. As we passed the foothills we watched the Jeep's exterior thermometor sensor drop all the way down to a comfortable 72 degrees. Our geocaching day began on Chief Mountain. We saw comfortable, curious mountain squirrels, chipmunks, and we heard a few hummingbirds. Beautiful day in the mountains. Then we grabbed a few more on the way to Evergreen where we had Himalayan food and shared it with a mouse before heading back to Aurora for Sonic and then the comfort of a good night's sleep.
Thanks for the cache!

We came up here today to place a couple of geocaches on this mountain that we've loved since moving here 11 years ago. I saw this new was up here so we popped in to see Buddy's memorial cache. Many more people have visited it and signed the sheet of paper in the geocache. It looks like they just haven't logged their visits. What a nice tribute to a man who sounds like a wonderful person. There are a few things we'd have in common with Buddy.
One of us drinks whiskey (the other one is just a beer drinker). We have both traveled the world like Buddy; and one of us has been to all the continents except Antarctica. Together we have done budget/adventure travel to Iceland, Germany, Italy, Cuba, Bali, and Singapore. We love cruising around...just on bikes instead of motorcycles. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find and for a great tribute to your friend.

FTF at 15:15! Wow! Where to begin? I drove my old 84 Jeep CJ-7 up here, and it overheated not far from the parking area! I opened the hood, and let it begin to cool down as I started my hike. I was racing some inbound Thunderstorms, and we are dealing with a wild fire "Butte Fire" down below in Evergreen. I saw this cache publish a day ago and after reading about Buddy, I knew I had to make a run at it! Once I arrived at the GZ I reflected upon what a wonderful spot this was and what a perfect place to hide a tribute cache, dedicated to what sounds like quite the individual! I think Buddy and I would have gotten along swell, I share a lot of his passions, and was raised on Willie Nelson! I wonder if Buddy ever ran around with Willie in Evergreen back in the day, before the IRS seized his ranch! Anyhow, after about a 10 minute search I finally spotted the ammo can about 25 feet south from my GZ. i was happy to find a pen, (I forgot mine) but there wasn't a log to sign, so I signed my FTF on the old Rockies ticket! I had serious thoughts about the last little nip of Highland single malt whisky, (I had worked up a powerful thirst) but I figured that last swig was Buddy's! All in all a wonderful place on this special mountain to pay tribute to a friend, grabbed his TB! When I finally got home I dedicated a shot of Jameson to Buddy! Definitely earns a favorite from me! TFTC!

Colorado’s Single Malt Duo created this cache as a special remembrance to our dear departed friend Buddy Wayne Baker. We placed a most special TBug in the cache for the FTF. Hoping that this begins a memorable journey for the treasure.
