Happy Birthday To

Icezebra11

Brad

??

??????Today is Brad's birthday.  When he goes caching he is usually hiking or mountain climbing.  Hopefully he'll be able to do either of those today.  When Brad isn't out geocaching, he is solving challenging puzzles, mountain climbing, and playing hockey.  He has placed some caches on top of mountains, virtually on mountains.

??????Let's help Brad celebrate his birthday by finding this cache.  No tree climbing required, but it's a reach for some, a TOTT might be useful.

The puzzles

Part 1

Find the locations of the included photos. All photos are north of Crossroads and South of Carpenter. Mostly along County Road 5 (Fairgrounds Road).

Photo A.  There is a 4 digit number above the glass doors.  Take that number and add each digit until you get a single digit number.  This is A = ___

Photo B.  There is a 4 digit number above the front door.  Take that number and add each digit until you get a single digit number.

This is B = ___

Photo C.  There is a 4 digit number on the corner of the building.  Take that number and add each digit until you get a single digit number.

This is C = ___

Photo D. Find the plaque.  There is an anniversary year on the plaque take that number and add all digits together to get a single digit number.

This is D = ___

Now take

( A + C ) - ( B + D ) = _____

{Don't make this a single digit number}

A fun puzzle and cache. I picked a really hot day to find this cache. I followed Google maps to direct me to the cache and found myself driving past the cache and doing a big loop. Don't use the long (carbon fiber?) rod as a TOTT (without gloves). I initially did and still have painful embedded fibers. Cheers.

My wife was working today and I was enjoying a relaxing birthday at home with my pup Angel. Later in the morning I decided to get on the net and check my email. There were a number of new cache notifications so I checked them out. There were six or seven that I had hit delete on and then I pulled up the notification for this cache and was taken by surprise, and a wonderful surprise it was!

I read through the cache page and first checked out the photos. I knew exactly where two were and the other two I had a good idea where they might be. Then I opened up the Jigidi and I signaled "GOAL"!! I immediately headed for my desktop and started working the puzzle. It brought back memories of using every one of those signals many, many times. It was a tough puzzle that took me a tad over three hours to complete. The unfortunate part was I had to head for my golf league and didn't have time to go verify the picture locations and work the part one math.

This evening, after finishing my round and a refreshment at the 19th hole, I drove to the area of the photos. Didn't take long to verify all four locations and do the math. With that, I had a good set of coordinates and off I went. Arrived at GZ in fairly short order and started my search. It was only a few minutes and the cache was in hand. I absolutely love the container!! And I was pleased to see that I did get the {FTF} too.

Thanks you Jeremy for this fantastic birthday gift!!! I loved everything about it and it definitely gets a fave!
