Take CR211 from the 160/550 frontage road to the entrance to the Animas La Plata Project. Follow the entrance road a little way to a hikers parking area on the left. Short hike from there.*Caution* There is ongoing construction activity at the Animas La Plata Project. Go slow, stay out of the way, park in the designated area.
This is the first in the Bear Would series. All containers are similar. Small pill bottle in a natural container. Log book and pencil only. I originally placed this one quite a ways up the canyon. On the way back out, we came across a small rattler sunning himself on the trail. I went back up, retrieved the cache and placed it closer and in a more open, less snaky area. I gotta say though that it really is nice up in that canyon, so take a hike up there a ways, just keep an eye out.
