NGS Benchmark Series.

This is a series to show geocachers more of our nation's benchmarks. Though they can be found in every county in the continental U.S., benchmarks are just another little known survey tool to the public. But when you look on the NGS site or Geocaching.com you can see every detail about them. There is also description for each that tells exactly where they are. These descriptions interest me the most, at times you have to wonder where in the world did the railroad track go that was 50 feet from a certain benchmark years ago. I hope that this series gives a historical insight to geocachers of what our country looked like in the years past.

Fun last day in Kansas. We (@WindAtMyBack and @intrepiidexplorer ) came out to Hays to grab the amazing gadget caches and others before fulfilling my promise to show up for Benj59's CITO event at Sunflower Mountain. We fueled up with Starbucks and headed out. During our journey west we stopped at several rest stops and grabbed targeted caches. We were lucky enough to meet one of the CO's at her cache and then see her again at the CITO. Great to make new friends. Our journey was more of a loop, as we doubled back to Goodland to finish our work there. Scraped my head pretty good on something near a cache. Thanks to all for the great time. Only 2 DNFs, which were obviously missing, so we replaced them.
Replaced wet log.
Tftc!

Since we were right down the road to grab Mingo we decided to grab a quick state souviner and came to grab this cache. It's funny how many of our trip caches this time have been markers like this! We LOVE the wind farm turbines in the background!

Rogohobo and I are on a 6 state coaching trip fulfilling some of our bucket list caches and caches that will help us reach a challenge goal... specifically a "favorites" challenge. We picked caches with high favorite points or some with excellent attributes!
Tftc and another point towards the hidden creatures event!! ??? ???

We are caching/staying in a nearby kansas town and on a mission to log lingo. Had to come across the border and get a Colorado cache while we were here! Quick and easy. The wind turbines newest are too cool and have been a huge source of pictures for us. We don't have them in Arkansas.

T F T C - - - - I’m having a great time in Colorado Geocaching and sight seeing. Staying with a good friend in Centennial. I decide to hit the flat lands for my July 4th adventure. I got a early start to avoid some of the heat.

I appreciate your efforts in placing this cache for our geocaching enjoyment. It is always a great day to be out and about geocaching. Good job! I had a fun time finding it. Once again, TFT$ LTFAHG-Like to Find and Hide Geocaches.
