This should be easy to locate as you get GREAT GPS reception up here. This cache is located on top of Jumbo Mountain east of Paonia, Colorado and provides a great view of the North Fork Valley and surrounding mountains. If you are in Paonia, you can see some radio towers on top of Jumbo. The cache is near these towers. The direct route from Paonia to the towers in NOT the way to go. To get to the cache, take the county road up Minnesota Creek to N38 52.37 W107 29.59. At this location there is parking if you have ATV’s, Motorcycles or Horses. You can drive a 4WD all the way to the cache but a “Pavement Queen” is not recommended as there are some sections of the road where brush will scrape the side of the vehicle. DO NOT travel the last several miles of the road if rain is to be expected. The road has several steep sections and will turn into a slick mess if wet. It is approximately 10 miles one way from the parking area to the cache. There are also many other 4WD and hiking trails near this area. The cache is an ammo box and contains 5 Happy Meal toys and some Wildflower seeds. Please rehide well under the rocks. Enjoy the view.

Congratulations to Fork L Man and skippyv for the co-FTF

This was the first time my daughter and I have ever done this. We found it pretty quickly. Loved the drive and adventure. The cache is still there. We weren’t sure since it hadn’t been logged in a long time. Even though the hunt is the fun part it was sad to see that the contents were a few McDonald’s toys and various other pocket leftovers. Someone had found it in 5/2017 it’s just not logged anywhere but in the book. Didn’t take anything didn’t leave anything. Didn’t want to leave anything since it doesn’t seem to be one people go to find. It is a wonderful location and we had a blast!!

Definitely earned this one. Went as far as the four-wheeler would take me but steep slick hills led to a long hike. I thought this road would be in the sun and be dry, but it was ankle deep snow the whole way. No more summer caches in the winter, although snowmobile would have been perfect. Lots of lessons learned on this one, thankful to be back at home. Took paracord bracelet, left avatar figure and TB.

CB_Beauty and I drove to within 3 1/2 miles of the cache before turning around as the road was too rutted for my Sport Trac to continue. I feared I would high center out, so we turned around for safety. The road was completely dry and fairly easy driving up until that point. CBB and I will return with a higher clearance vehicle or bikes.
