This cache is placed on the day that marks the halfway point of the current year of 2020... In spite of restrictions brought on by pandemic and drought... many of us find ourselves enjoying the fresh air and freedom of recreating in our public lands this summer.   As we progress past Summer Solstice, Colorado days shorten to reveal clear, dark skies full of stars.... who needs fireworks with a night show like that??  To celebrate our upcoming Independence Day, this puzzle cache has a bit of state trivia woven in.   

The first part is easy to adjust as the cache lies directly on a nearby line of latitude.  To determine the second part of the coordinates, you will have to solve the puzzle below:

Arizona, Colorado, Alaska   Tennessee, (Minnesota-North Dakota). (California+Maine), New Mexico, Texas

Well, after 3 trips and missing a FTF I finally have a smiley!!! After several emails with Carol (the CO) I finally figured out I had reversed 2 digits when copying the coordinates into my GPS and on a sheet of paper. As Carol's coordinates are always dead on I couldn't figure out what was going on. Nice will stocked cache and great view. Coordinates on this one are excellent. My Grand Nephew took a black light and we left 6 other items. TFTC

Got it! Took one more trip, after a little back and forth with the CO, and got it this time. The coordinates are dead on.And yeah - that's a really nicely stocked ammo can. :-)

Searched a big area again but couldn’t come up with an ammo can. Maybe it is a Barney Fife “one bullet” ammo can

Well for crying out loud. Got the puzzle after a bit of puzzling over it. Came out thinking it would be an easy FTF, but NO!

I must be the worst cacher on the planet to miss an ammo can!!!!

Loved the puzzle, though.
