This is not Winter Quarters Bay

Winter Quarters Bay is 8,850 miles away at McMurdo Station on Ross Island, Antarctica. This is the Sloan's Lake Park Marina.

Winter Quarters Bay was established as a deep water harbor by Robert Falcon Scott and the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) and is still used today by the United States Anatarctic Program for the annual cargo ship re-supply of McMurdo Station.

The Sloan's Lake Park Marina was established by the WPA in the 1930s and is still used today by "Dragon Boats".

Please enjoy the wonderful views as you sit and contemplate these two "Historic" Harbors.

Muggles everywhere, You have to be stealthy.

Somebody parked right next to me as I pulled into the parking lot. She was still sitting there in her car when I got back, though. I guess she wasn't interested in the recently published geocache.
