Find a geocache inspired by the cheesy television shows, movies and music of the 80's! Any true children of the 80's ought to make short work of this one (other generations might need to do a little homework).

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. Don't go there - it's a freeway and you'll get run over! Solve the following puzzle to find the actual location.

When I think of my childhood growing up in the 80's, I think of the distinctive performing arts of the time, and by 'distinctive' I really mean cheesy and awful. The television shows were vacuous blow-em-ups, the movies were low on plot and lower on special effects, and the music was driven by the almighty synthesizer.

One of the tools available to the current generation is the internet, and like all tools it can be used for good or harm. You'll probably think the latter after viewing the video required to solve this cache. It's chock-full of 80's goodness, displaying the very best the decade had to offer. You'll see the finest in television and movies, set to the scintillating beats of MIDI versions of classic theme songs.

This cache can be found at the following coordinates:
  • N38 AB.CDE W104 FG.HIJ
To determine what each letter should be, watch the video and use the following table to plug in the right number.

 Hints

It's an awful thing being a child of the 80's ... but not as awful as getting to GZ and missing something about 5-6 feet up.

I love this puzzle but it proved to be a real bear for me to solve. With the help of the CO and the last finder, I eventually managed to solve it and then went today to seek it out. Funny how the satellite imagery shows nothing but dirt and trees in this locale. Favorite point for the fun and creative puzzle, and for making me listen to some really cheesy tunes (some of which I really do like, I must confess). SL. TFTH

Asa child of the 70's, I guess I was still watching too much TV in the 80's. Cache still in good shape with construction almost done. Thanks!

Well that was a fun one! Had to look a few up, but the others were good trips down memory lane. Got to GZ and was apprehensive that it would be gone due to the construction on site, but the cache is indeed there...about 4" from a piece of heavy machinery, actually! Thanks for the puzzle. This cache finishes my January calendar.

Once we learned about the Hidden Creature Challenge we knew we would have to travel in order to complete the challenge. We simply did not have one hundred caches within 40 miles to be able to log.. Since we had not been in the Pueblo area for years we decided to cache our way to and then in the area.

Day one started cool as we left very early in the morning, then grew to a very hot day. We performed maintenance for numerous cache owners. We replaced wet and full logs as well as broken and incomplete containers. We also replaced complete caches that were missing and accumulating numerous DNF's. We also had DNF's of our own on caches that were recently found but did not replace those. Nice hide, SL

Thank you zulu113 for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

We solved this puzzle a few days ago. We had fun working on it together, but couldn't finish it the first night. I reattached it a day later and eventually got close enough to use the geochecker for the last number. Fun puzzle. We love being children of the 80's. I often listen to 80's on 8. This morning I found the cache easily. Everything is in great shape.

This is day 1323 of our current daily caching streak (day 27 of our Mystery Streak). Thanks again for helping us to extend these by another day.

TFTC!

Solved this tough puzzle with my mom the other day. As my mom was a 60's child and I was a 90's child, the 80's were a difficult subject! We figured out most of the clues and with a desperate, pleading email to the CO we got the rest of the numbers. Thanks for the help, the puzzle, and cache!
