Look West at cache site. At the back of the praire dog field, you will see them. YOU MUST HAVE BINOCULARS. Unless you have eyes like a bird ;o) They are the size of a robin. It can look and act like a praire dog until it flies. It is active during the day, unlike most owls.

Can be seen from Late March until late October. They will return year after year to the same praire dog colony. True to its name, the Burrowing Owl nests in a hole in the ground. Although it is quite willing to dig its own burrow, it often uses one already provided by prairie dogs, skunks, armadillos, or tortoises. It is a state endangered species in Colorado. Information provided by May Jo Stark with the Aurora Parks, Recreation and Open Space.

Finally out here with my bike so I hit a couple trails and picked up some smileys. Brief visit to Denver and got out before the storm. Stamped log. So many caches, so little time. Thanks for your effort to place this cache and all the fun I had finding it. Don't Drink the Kool-Aid! Pura Vida! Live, laugh, love, cache.

After returning from Seattle, I had to hang around the airport to wait for @WindAtMyBack to arrive. She ended up on a later flight.
I drove over here to grab as many of these caches as possible. I saw an owl and f hawks (maybe less with one or two that returned to check me out.)

Thanks, imusttravel2000, for placing and maintaining this cache. We found it in great shape and enjoy all the caches we find as a family.

For 2018 we are working on really getting back into Caching. To do this we are upping our enthusiasm and the number of our cache trips. This is cache number 6525 for us. We have also hidden 247 so we understand and appreciate the effort that goes into maintaining a cache. Thanks again and go have fun.
