Take a break near the Crystal River on the way to Redstone! Eddies are shalllow & safe enough to wade in, in high or low water, even if the river is cold & raging in early summer. Jumping off one of the boulders in the river only recommended for daredevils who swim well & aren't afraid of cold water!!

There weren't many geocaches in this stretch of this scenic road, so we decided to place one near our favorite near our favorite summertime mountain beach, in high or low water. Great place to wade, build sand castles, and jump in the cold water of the Crystal. Directions: Take road to Redstone Campground. Park at a turnout near the "1 mile to Redstone" sign. Since this spot can get busy on hot weekends, placed it a little bit away from the water. Lots of kid toys & 1 trackable placed in cache. Warning: No phone service in this area, so download data ahead of time!
