This new series is to bring back the Lost Art of Benchmarking.

I finally found a great use for Micro caches. This series will be placed around already discovered benchmarks for you to discover (and log) as well.

This way, you can not only log a micro-cache but a benchmark as well. Its a two-for-one deal!!

This is a nice and easy Benchmark to see.
Difficulty rating is due to distance from parking.

This cache is at Benchmark AA8174.
The closest parking is a little more than .1 miles to the south at approximately: N 39° 37.430 W 104° 49.232
(where there is also a cache BigSmile Thx IvyDogParents)

Don't forget to log the Benchmark here! http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.aspx?PID=AA8174

I’ve been looking at this geocache for quite a while wondering if I wanted to come along this busy road to find it. So I checked it out today & saw there was a sidewalk along Parker Rd so off I went even though it hasn’t been logged since last summer. Easily made it to GZ & found a few places to check. Sure enough it was still there, the log was a little damp but not bad considering the container.
I usually don’t log benchmarks but this one looks different so I’m going to look it up.

A nice cache/benchmark combination. Thanks, OrionStarr.

I have been lucky enough to be granted a week's stay at my brother's in this beautiful state (I'm from MI).
The CO provided parking coordinates - awesome!. Found the benchmark right away. Took a minute to locate the cache as I hadn't remembered the hint. The cache needs attention. I was unable to open it as I didn't want to destroy it. It was also wet. Thanks for the 2 for 1 special.

I am caching with the mom of the year, Noah's Peeps. She is letting me take the week off from school to come to Colorado with her.

This is the first cache we found today. It took a few extra seconds to find the cache cuz we hadn't read the clue.

I found a really cool red ball near the cache.

TFTC.
