What an adventure. It’s a good thing I had camped out in the area before otherwise I don’t think I would’ve come up with it. That and knowing a pirate who was willing to help out. How? He was willing to let me parachute in from his private plane. Otherwise, I don’t think I ever would’ve gotten to the right spot.
Don’t be deceived by my smiling face in the picture. I had to push no less than a half dozen bikers down the hill to reach my goal. And there are things I can’t even talk about that I had to do to sign this cache. If you’ve found it you know what I mean...
Glad to have this one found. And hopefully the pirate who helped me will be willing to share the booty for others to find the cache.
Thanks for the hide Colorado_artist

I met a man over a year ago after sending him a message. He asked me to meet him and go caching. I cached with him a few times and he opened up my eyes. A friendship developed. He had told me about some mysterious cache that he knew how to get to. I asked him for over a year to make time to go find this thing. Finally he gave in and made the time. The kicker was I had to take him. That was probably the hardest thing going for this quick park and grab. Cache rating is WAAAY over rated.

Thank you, Colorado_artist for placing a fun cache for all of us to enjoy. I look forward to finding more of your caches.

I solved the 1st part of the puzzle but found out it was impossible to go past that point without contacting the CO or a previous finder. I did both and also contacted another previous finder who happens to be a caching friend. All three eventually replied and I was able to get what I needed to find this cache. Actually the previous finder sent the map but I was not able to find WP1. The geocaching friend's info was what I needed to get to the actual final cache where I was able to sign the log.
This one needs some serious CO attention before I would recommend anyone attempting this the way geocaching was truly intended. But I am thankful to my geocaching friends who help me through these challenges. That's one more reason why I have found attending caching events to be invaluable!

Close to two years ago, I was having a beer in a local watering hole. I overheard a man at the next table tell a crazy story of treasure located in the nearby hills. I turned to see who was telling the tale, and I watched a treasure map exchange hands. The new owners of the map laid it out on the table for closer inspection. I took that opportunity to photograph the map without being caught. I had hopes of searching for it soon after, but I caught a case of scurvy which sidelined me for many months. When I recovered, I had little hope that the treasure was still out there, but even if the chances were slim, I needed to at least try for it. Today was the day. My body, still recovering from illness, was tested by the trials ahead. I persevered through each stage, and came upon the location of the treasure. Much to my surprise, the treasure was still intact! I sat, trying to recover my strength, and left my mark inside the treasure chest. I took a small souvenir and began my journey home, already weary from my travels. Indeed, the journey has left me with little energy. All I can say is thank you to the man in the bar for hiding this treasure. TFTC!!!!
