We placed this cache mostly as an out of traffic log for the survey marker located at N 40.00.000 W 105.15.681. This is one of the most interesting survey markers we've visited in the Boulder area.

The 40th parallel of latitude is closely aligned with Baseline Road in the contemporary city of Boulder. The actual baseline in the Boulder area that was established by Todd and Withrow is approximately one-half of a second of latitude (about 30 feet) north of the actual 40th parallel, astonishingly precise, given the terrain and the instrumentation available in 1859.

El paralelo 40th Norte que está marcado aquí con una línea que atraviesa una roca con marcas conmemorativas, hace años tenía en el suelo dibujado el mapa del mundo por donde pasa este paralelo. Entre estos lugares está Aranjuez en España.
Yo soy y vivo en España y estoy pasando una temporada en esta bonita ciudad de Boulder.
Me ha gustado mucho este caché. Muchas gracias por esconder y mantenerlo.

Como hacía un calor tremendo me puse a la sombra al lado del riachuelo y mirando hacia donde indican las coordenadas, allí estaba brillando.

T F T C - - - - Another day of Geocaching in Colorado and having a blast. So many GREAT caches to find on my vacation. Going to head north of Denver for today’s adventure. Staying in Centennial with a good friend.
