Captain Giac's Treasure, hidden under a noon day sun, cradled in the natural heart of a red sandstone boulder.... as they say X marks the spot. Much shiny treasure for kids and young at heart. Take 16 Rd between Fruita and Loma all the way out to the dessert. When the pavement turns to dirt ,keep going. The dirt road takes you all the way past the canyon it's hidden in. You can drive the road into the canyon if you have good clearance. If not, park and enjoy a light walk...

Found it while cache hunting with the DASH crew, I didn't know that there was a mine in this canyon! the treasure chest is in need of repair however, half the lid is broken off.
