the rock
ancient sand dunes

Kokopelli's trail is just off interstate 70. Park at the Trail head parking. If your not into walking, you can drive over the hill on the trail (road). I drove over the hill in my Mercury Tracer so about anything can make it. I went some where close to a mile starting at an altitude of 4615, to an altitude of 4700 were the cache is placed. Over all I felt it was a pretty easy hike.
The cache is a white 2 gallon bucket. please make sure it is hidden good when your done due to the high amount of traffic. If your into biking then this should be a trail to hit up.

 Hints

If you try and head straight for it you will do a lot of climbing. Find the bottom trail and ask for the ancient sand dunes.

Our first geocache. That was fun! Thanks!

The Spechsartpiraten conquer America! The anticipation of our big holiday in the US was huge and our expectations were more than exceeded. A wonderful country with such varied landscapes and a vastness and beauty that has often enchanted us. Not to mention, the innumerable geocaches that can be searched here - but we had the time for a fraction.

Our journey took us from Las Vegas through the hot Death Valley to the stunning Yosemite National Park. From there we went back to Vegas and on to the Grand Canyon. We continued via Monument Valley to Canyonlands and Arches National Park. Another highlight was the Bryce Canyon. Unfortunately, our visit to Zion National Park and the Valley of Fire ended our unique round trip far too early.

During the two weeks we mainly searched for virtuals, old caches, challenges, special scores and caches along the way.

We sincerely thank all owners for their efforts to lay out and care for the caches and to show the places and landscapes. This is how we got to know the country even more intensively.

We apologize for the uniform log entry. Caches we've liked and remembered will be described in more detail or given a favorite point.

Found with Psych01 and hubby on our way to Vegas. The gate was locked so the hike was the only option. Fairly easy hike so no complaints...TFTC SL

Thxs for keeping this cache active. SL on pg 2 under "BG 3/17/18" rather than at back of book. Getting ready for bike race so gate was locked, easy hike in.

We looked for over 30 min

Found it 09/21/2017 By Coke-Collector
The first time I looked for this cache today I spent 20 minutes on it with no luck so I gave up and went to the next closest cache and I found it quickly. I decided to come back and try this one again. The second try was a charm. Found it within five minutes. Amagine that! Cache needs a new log as it's full. The lid for container is cracked to. Nice hide in a great location! TFTC SL

Traveling the scenic route from Ogden to Colorado Springs and grabbing a few caches along the way. We made the hike from trailhead #5 just before sundown and enjoyed the beauty of the rock formations along the trail. Container was about 30' uphill from our GZ. Signed log and returned as found. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this classic cache.

This one was my priority for today and the main reason I stopped here on my way to Utah. I was happy to find it just a few feet further in from where the coords plotted. SL, left a lacrosse ball, and replaced as found. TFTC!
