The Lariat Loop Scenic Byway is Colorado's only urban byway. This byway, which runs 33 miles, is filled with cultural, natural and historic landmarks.

The byway starts on US 6 in Golden, traveling up Lookout Mountain Road, then southwest down to US 40 onto I-70 at Genesse. The loop continues on SH 74 from El Rancho through Evergreen to Morrison. Hogback Road then continues north to US 40, and then Heritage Road back to US 6.

I talked the huggle into taking a caching trip with me up to Golden and Lookout Mt. I haven't been to Lookout Mt. since I was an ill-behaved teenager, and I haven't been to Buffalo Bill's grave since I was a slighly less ill-behaved kid. The high speed traffic on this 20 mph road nearly caused a collision at the entrance to Buffalo Bill's grave and museum. I'm glad we were off the road at that point! We found the cache with a little searching. Clever container which blended in more than I would have thought. The log and cache are in great shape and well hidden. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks Imusttravel2000 for placing this cache so that we can play!
