International Women's Day is sponsored worldwide by the United Nations. The roots of this celebration goes back to the late 1800's to early 1900s. It grew from women's socialist movements and early women's trade union groups. The first International Women's Day was held March 19, 1911. Women socialists and trade unions held an earlier Women's Day on the last Sunday in February, 1908. The event grew from there and has been celebrated annually since. The focus is upon women workers, and advancing women's rights in the workforce, politics and society.

With great weather, we decided to take a long drive to see the Kiowa-Bennett road from Bennett to Kiowa. After finding Hansel's Crumb #11, Gander said there's cache just down this other road so we took a quick detour. It was appropriate to find this cache during Women's History Month. It was sad to see the ranch sign laying on the ground. Apparently, it was formerly the Rootin' Tootin' Ranch. Thanks for the placement, Imusttravel2000!

I’m not one for power trails and try to avoid being roped into them. However, I was introduced to challenge caches last year by fearthefish and it’s pretty much ruined my world. While on a caching trip this year I signed a cache that I need to have some ridiculous numbers to be able to qualify. I’m a bit short of meeting my goal so I’m forced into hitting the eastern plains for some big number days before the end of the year. So here I am, back at it, trying to put a dent in these. I signed the log PMC to save space on the log.

Found GC6KEV2 - March 8th~International (Working) Women's Day, on October 20, 2017 using Cachly for iOS.

Some may call me seriously mentally ill. Some may state that I am in a state of mind that prevents social interaction. Some may say I am in a state of mind that prevents normal perception and or behavior. I prefer to say that I tend to do the same thing over and over again, but I expect different results. That being said, I believe we only live one life and I am trying to make the best of it. I thank you, imusttravel2000 for placing a fun geocache to fuel my "insanity" or addiction as I call it. I appreciate you bringing me here so that I can sign my alias on a piece of paper that you have hidden.

I look forward to finding more of your geocaches. I also look forward to potentially finding geocaches with you one day and sharing stories of our insanity... I mean hobby or addiction? Cheers!

I'm not sure what sized cache this should have been, but I found a micro that apparently was thrown down last April. Thanks, imusttravel2000. 1:30 pm
