Stars Across America Series

Colorado Star

Colorado Fun Fact:
In November 1859, Breckenridge was founded and named after John C. Breckinridge, Vice President of the United States, in the hopes of flattering the government and gaining a post office. The plan worked and the first post office between the Continental Divide and Salt Lake City, Utah was built in Breckenridge. Breckenridge was the film location of the 1989 comedy National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and some scenes in Dumb and Dumber (shots of Aspen in the movie are actually Breckenridge).

Took a quick trip to Denver to get the youngest on a flight for school trip. On the way home I had extra time and decided to pick up the second half of the Colorado Star as the weather was cool enough for the long hike. Started where I had left off and continued around the Star. Found the cache but the log was soaked. Dropped off a new log and plastic bag to keep it dry. TFTC.

I wanted to visit this geo art for a while now. Today was a good opportunity to go for it. Trying to earn all the points needed for the planetary pursuit promotion. My apology ahead of time for the cut and paste logs. Started out my quest today with overcast skies and just above freezing. Will be racing a potential storm to get all of the Star I can today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Retaped the container to try to protect it better.

The star was the main goal for today. It was chilly and windy but billkat and I had a great time making our way around the area. TFTC

Had a WINDY fun day with WingsAndTales caching the Colorado Star. Hopefully the star can be completed again with some offsets? We replaced a few caches and logs along the way.
Thanks for the caches and the adventure!
