INSTRUCTIONS

Let's take Toto for a walk to the Witches Castle.

Start at the posted coordinates and walk ( SOUTH ) about 250 feet.

Turn to the right ( WEST ) and walk about 525 Feet.

At this location hide from Miss Gulch riding her bike.

We Wouldn't want her to grab TOTO!

Now keep walking to the ( WEST ) over the bridge.

Walk for about 518 feet and look to the ( SOUTH ) to

see the Robinson Mansion. Continue on ( WEST )

for about 500 feet and watch out for the trees

throwing apples. Continue on another 515 feet

and the Scarecrow needs to watch out for the

Witch throwing Fireballs from the ( SOUTH )

We know how he HATES Fire! Continue on another

.23 miles and look over to the ( SOUTH ).

This might be a good time to let TOTO

take care of some business!!

Continue on ( WEST ) another .13 miles

and turn ( RIGHT ) and head ( NORTH )

Walk another .13 miles and watch out

for the flying Monkeys. Continue on to the

( NORTH ) another 55 feet and look up to the

( LEFT ) to see the Witches Castle.

Now look to the ( RIGHT ) ( EAST ) and you will

see the SECRET ENTRANCE to the Witches Castle.

Walk about 27 feet to the ( EAST ) and look

for three small rocks against the ( WEST ) wall.

Final Coordinates are N 38 26.187 W 105 15.287

Wow! This turned out to be a longer walk than I anticipated. I'm glad I got started on it before the day got much warmer. I followed all the instructions, though some of them didn't make any sense--trees throwing apples?? What's that about? The witch throwing fireballs?? Or flying monkeys? Don't see anything like that. When I came to the "Turn right and head north"I knew I was on the right track, but there seems to be a step missing between "Continue on to the (NORTH ) another 55 feet and look up to the ( LEFT ) to see the Witches Castle." and
"Now look to the ( RIGHT ) ( EAST ) and you will see the SECRET ENTRANCE to the Witches Castle."
Or else the 55 feet is a typo and it should read 505 or 515 or 525 or something similar. Because after I walked east 27 ft and there was no wall with rocks by it anywhere nearby , I was kinda at a loss. But thanks for including the final coordinates in the GPX, because that was my clue that I still had a ways to go to the north; once I got to the correct coordinates, the find was easy. Signed the log and started on the long walk back. Thanks for hiding this fun cache; I'll sure give it a Favorite Point.

RedV2 and I are celebrating the very nice weather by finding a bunch of puzzle caches in the area. TFTC

Wingsandtales and I had worked on this one sometime back. She came up with one set of numbers and I had another. She came down and found the cache last year. Now it was my turn to see if what we had come up with was correct. Since it was a find.... obviously one of our number sets was incorrect.

I won't say who had the wrong number set.

Nice hide

No luck with this one. Too many possible ‘secret entrances’ caught us out and no sign of anything against the west wall.

Lovely walk though before our train raid.

I've looked for this one before with no luck, but after receiving a hint at the event this morning I was able to find it without a problem. It also looks like no one got to this section of the trail, so I grabbed a bag and picked up the big stuff.

I had a little extra time today and made the trip down the not so yellow brick road for this one. There was some water in the container but the log was dry. TFTC

After riding the train, I checked the GPSr to see if there were any caches nearby. Saw his one and I thought, "Cool! A letterbox cache that isn't just a normal cache with a stamp in it!" So I set off for it... Though I didn't read through the whole thing at first; I just went from stage to stage. After a few stages, I realized this was going to take a while. I considered abandoning it, but it had been a while since I had done a long cache so I continued.
I eventually got to what should have been close to GZ, but I didn't see the secret entrance. I wasn't sure I had the distances quite right for the last couple stages, so I wasn't too surprised. I continued on the trail a little bit and saw what I thought (and hoped!) was the secret entrance, and fortunately, I was right! :)
Thanks for the cache!
