Turn north out of Mancos on 184. Take the Jackson Lake/Transfer Park Rd. (Forrest rd. 561). Then sit back and enjoy the scenery for the next 30 min. or so, up past Jersey Jim Lookout Tower. It's a lovely drive through the aspen and spruce trees, but would only recommend going June through Nov.(snow can prevent access). You'll find the cache just over 1/2 mile past the Gold Run Trailhead. High clearance vehicles are advisable, but 2 wheeldrive should be sufficient. Original contents: bottle cooler, cards, umbrella, pliers, bottle opener, and a big clip.

What a beautiful day to cache and what a GORGEOUS area! Lots of trees and views all around! We found the cache and appreciate big ones like this! We signed the log, we took a pin about hot flashes (ha ha), left a necklace and plastic indian and cowboy, then re-hid the cache. Thanks so much for the hide!

Went for a drive today to find these three old mountain caches. Very beautiful scenery, and this cache was just where it was supposed to be. Left wizard and alien dolls, TN. TFTC

Took a drive yesterday to do some photography. Found the cache in great shape. Fantastic view of the valley and mountains. Saw a rockchuck and got a photo of it just before it disappeared down the hill. Nice day out for Horseluvr, Cowboy and McPhee. Since we live about an hour from the site the altitude did not bother us. The last bit of road from Gold Run to the cache was rough with potholes full of water but one could park down hill and walk in easily. Took a compass and left a survival tool.
