A great hike along the Colorado Trail for the average hiker. Views of Rainbow lake if approached from the west, beaver lakes if approached from the east. Flora abounds.
Park at 38D 48.761'N, 106D 18.905'W for longer hike, 38D48.122'N, 106D 13.841'W for shorter hike. Use your map and GPS and you cannot miss! This cache contains, among other things, an original oil painting (really!) by yours truly. ENJOY!

In town for a Retreat at Spring Canyon Conference Center. I was actually led to the Colorado Trail by Spring Canyon's Mountain Dog which is also a protection from bears dog.

I really appreciate having geocaches on the Colorado trail. I replaced the container. It is a painted nut jar. I left the little storybook inside. It is very chewed up! There is a new log. I hauled out the old container. Thanks for the cache!

Found this cache on a Colorado Trail section hike from Twin Lakes to the Angel of Shavano trail head. Log is wet - needs replacing. TFTC!

Great break on our drive from Taylor Park Reservoir to Buena Vista. Nice to get out of the car, beautiful hike, and although we did not see any beaver dams, we did extraordinarily see two bears! One that Mike got a good look at and one that I got a good look at. And on opposite sides of the trail! (Cool but a little creepy! ) Also meet some people hiking the whole length of the colorado trail. Met them right at the cache so we chatted a while. She was wearing a dress, he was hiking in crocs! Truely an interesting stop.

A great hike for kids. Beautiful day, beautiful hike. This would be a fun one to spruce up and give the kids something fun to find
