There is a hike or a four wheel drive trip involved. Bring water and enjoy the Colorado outdoors.
Cache started with a travel bug, a compass and small light. If you need the compass or light you shouldn't be here. The hike goes past the abandoned ski area called Rock Creek which operated brfom 1947 to the early 1950's. I don't know how they got people up there for a day of skiing. This was left while Boy Scout Troop 456 was on a hike.

This one needs some help. Pretty soggy, too wet to record in the log.

Team Red Rubicon has attempted this trail a few times during the winter months, but snow has limited our progress. We never came close to GZ. But this time was free and clear of snow! We did run into a footrace that was taking part of the trail, but we started our adventure near the 'end time' for that event. Make our way up the rocky trail (it seemed so much smoother during the winter) and stopped for the cache on our way to the top. Found the cache after taking a tour of the nearby stream. Signed in, then continued on our way. Hit the top of the trail for lunch, then headed back the way we came. Not a bad day, jeeping, caching, and finished the day off with food and liquid replenishment in Lyons.
