I am a natural klutz -- so much so that when my caching pals Periwinkle128 saw this patch in a cache, they thought of me. But still, as I was placing a group of caches around McKay Lake I suffered an inordinate number of flesh wounds. Amazingly, I didn't hurt anything placing this cache, so I'm choosing one of my favorite muscles.

Rhomboideus major is a skeletal muscle on the back that connects the scapula with the vertebrae of the spinal column. In human anatomy, it acts together with the rhomboid minor to keep the scapula pressed against the thoracic wall and to retract the scapula toward the vertebral column. When I was a student learning anatomy I used to create songs to help me memorize each of the muscles... I sing this song to my students, although I don't think it helps them much. I'll be happy to sing it for you the next time we see each other!

McKay Lake Trail is a 1.6 mile flat, concrete & crushed gravel loop trail where you are treated to ancient, towering cottonwood and willow trees along the south side of the small lake and uninterrupted views of the mountains to the west.

3rd find from my mother!!!! LWP has done it again

Found it 04/08/2020 By lasouthpaw
Brought the little one out here today for a school assignment to create a video where she talks about three different plants. I remembered the cat tails and other plants we saw at the edge of the water from our last visit. She rode her bike while I jogged. Wow, that kid is speedy! We made it most of the way around the lake before I got a call from work and turns out we only did one loop instead of two. But one was all we needed to stop by and sign the log. Thanks for the smiley!

Found! Fortuitous timing overall. I was dodging the many muggle families and had just bent down to hunt for the cache when another runner stopped me and asked if I had lost my car key (which had been laced in my shoes) down the trail a bit. He must have thought I was hunting for my key. SO I managed to find not only the cache but my lost car key. Favorite point for placement around my favorite local lake and for a funny memory! Thanks for all he new placements even if I was only batting 50% today!
