Yes! I was on my way to #1000 but came up a few short thanks to the snow the last few days. So, I decided I would pick this one up as #999 so I could get another nearby puzzle as #1000. Well, I sat and stared at this one (in the field, the very cold field) and finally gave up to walk back to my car. I pulled it up on my phone to walk and stare for a bit. And then boom, it hit. There it was. So simple, but so clever. Favorite point for sure. Made the find - it's in great shape! TFTC!!

Out on a very nice winter day with Ark Goose to gather some solved puzzles and other caches along the way. Had initially struggled with this puzzle as I hadn't been familiar with it. Finally determined that it is a fairly simple technique to solve. Looked around a bit as the GPSr was bouncing and then Ark Goose spotted it. Nice hide. SL. TFTC

Well, I was overthinking this Difficulty 1.5 puzzle, and just couldn't get it. So I admit -- I asked the CO for a hint. Then -- DUH, yep! Difficulty 1.5.
Made the trip to GZ this afternoon and like previous finders, looked and looked and came up empty. Even with (another) hint from the CO on where to look, no joy for 15 minutes. BUT -- just as I was getting ready to call it quits, I moved yet another handful of leaves at the base of a tree and BINGO! I found the copper colored bison tube that RPieper placed back in December of 2014. So the replacement container that the CO placed in July of 2017? Didn't find that one.
What are the chances of finding a bison tube that fell down from where it was hanging, into a thick pile of leaves, in a grove of oak trees? Pretty slim. But all worked out in the end, and there is now a container that future finders will hopefully be able to spot pretty quickly: That bison tube is now about 3 feet off the ground and if you go into the grove from the trail (so you are going downhill) -- look to the left (south).

I solved this puzzle a few weeks ago. Today at lunch, I decided to go find this one to keep our caching streak alive. I enjoyed the puzzle because I was able to figure it out on my own. The search did take a few minutes because of all the places it could have been hidden.

This is day 1098 of our current daily caching streak. Thanks again for helping us to extend it by another day.
