We had 4 cachers from our group searching for this one with no luck. I might have to wait another year before I get another crack at it.

I found this nice cache while taking a short tour through this part of Colorado. Unfortunately, my timing was off as many areas that contained caches I wanted to find were not yet open to the public after closing for the winter months. I'll have to make a return visit to this area in the future. Fortunately, I was able to come after this one and selected it over other caches because it looked fun, had a nice D/T rating, and helped meet a challenge requirement. I made the find on this one while on the way down the mountain, it was the last one for me on this hike. I took note of Old Glory when I ascended to the knob and paid my respects. At one point while I was enjoying the view, a sudden wind kicked up and made Old Glory unfurl behind me. I remember thinking what a cool recruitment photo that would have made while I looked off into the distance with The Flag flying behind me, assuming I recruitment photo good looks of course. After dallying for a moment, I got back down to business and started the hunt. After reviewing the historical drama from the logs (and gleaning some useful information), I followed the GPS and settled in on GZ. I was happy to make the find after a short but focused search. Container and contents are still in great shape. I wanted to end this hike on a high note after taking the largest concentration of DNFs on a hike that I've ever had during my entire 'geocaching career.' I appreciate the CO making the nice placement and cool site selection.
