Significant hike  Not Wheelchair accessible  Field Puzzle  No Park and Grab

Note that this is a Letterbox Hybrid. There is a stamp inside. The stamp is not a trade item; it needs to remain with the cache.

The cache is at the posted coordinates. However, it is a field puzzle. In order to log a Found It online, you must have figured out how to get to the official logbook inside of the cache. You do not need to bring any tools with you. You have everything you need at the cache. Please do not destroy the cache. There is no need to use force to open it.

This is a large cache! To protect it from the elements, I have placed it inside of an even larger plastic container. This should be accessible even when there is snow on the ground. However, you might prefer to wait until there is not snow on the ground to make it more comfortable for you to solve the field puzzle. You will need to lift it out of the protective container and set it on the ground. Please use care as you do so to avoid damaging the cache. It's reasonably heavy, but it's not indestructible.

Please pay attention as you work through the puzzle so that you can put it back together properly. Then make sure to put it back securely in the outer container.

I will occasionally check the log book to ensure that all Found It logs are legitimate. All illegitimate logs are subject to deletion at any time. (It would actually be really nice if you would include a non-spoiler photo of your stamp in the log book and either include it with your online log or send it to me through the messaging app on the site. However, the photo is totally optional and you do not need to contact me to be able to log the Found It.)

A big "thank you" to GeologyJohn for helping to lug the cache to the location and for field testing it and providing feedback.

This is a reasonably hard puzzle to solve. But, since it's a very long and somewhat difficult hike to get to this, I want people to be successful. So, I have provided the poem below. If you use the poem, the difficulty is probably like a 2.5. If you don't use the poem, you might consider this a 4.5 difficulty. I have decided to average those and call it a 3.5 difficulty. Choose your way of doing this; I would still suggest that you at least print out the poem to have as a backup. Figure that you will not have cell coverage at the cache.

Congratulations to: Greasepot on the FTF!

A poem with clues you can use.

Make sure to put on your hiking shoes.

Be prepared before you start.

To log this smiley you will need to be both hardy and smart.

You will not need to use any might.

When you follow the correct path things won't put up a fight.

You will need to open two sets of doors

before the prize will become yours.

So that this cache will not be cursed

you must start with the smaller door first.

That chamber will free the key

so that the larger door you will not need to burst.

As you begin to work at the station, you may ask,

"Where's the *&%$#@! combination?"

There's no need to be rude.

There's no need to cry.

I wouldn't leave you screwed.

Look for some shiny things nearby.

When the combination comes to light

hold the lock upright.

Do not become frenetic

the last step is magnetic.

(Please don't cheat and act like a fool

by coming to the cache with your own tool.)

The one in the cache is painted just so,

which lets you know the way it should go.

If you get frustrated just take a deep breath

and follow this poem step by step.

If you've been honest and followed the rules

you will be rewarded with one final jewel.

It's a simple puzzle to solve.

I'm not being too cruel.
